Obviously, when it comes time for Kate to be Queen consort, her grandmother-in-law won’t be around any longer. That’s why the current monarch is reportedly investing a lot of time in the Duchess of Cambridge while she’s still alive.
She knows that William and Kate are the future of the monarchy, so she wants to ensure that both of them are ready for what’s coming. According to Neil Sean, a royal commentator, Kate is the queen’s “number one priority” right now, and so she’s advising her whenever she can.
