You might think that even if she wasn’t actually the one sitting on the throne, Kate would still be looking forward to this significant upgrade in both status and power. That’s actually far from being the case.
In a past interview, Prince Harry said royals do what they do “for the greater good” – not because they particularly enjoy it. Asked whether anyone in the family wanted to be king or queen, Harry replied he didn’t think so. Kate herself spoke on the matter, saying it was a “daunting prospect,” but she was sure William would help her.
