[post_page_title]The world’s oldest gamebook[/post_page_title]

The Royal Game of Ur is one of the oldest known games to exist. Two game boards were found in a tomb in Iraq, dating them to the first dynasty of Ur to around 2600 BCE. Though they are other game boards from antiquity, this was the first game found with a gamebook. The cuneiform tablet dates back to 177-176 BC, making it the oldest gamebook in the world. Unfortunately, only a part of it was found, making the game’s rules open to some interpretation.
