Less known than their Egyptian counterparts, the Nubian pyramids were built by the Kushite Kingdoms in modern-day Sudan. Despite having their unique customs at first, the latter rulers were heavily influenced by all facets of Ancient Egyptians’ life. The 25th dynasty of pharaohs were actually Nubian kings who ruled it until they were taken over by Assyria. The 255 Nubian pyramids are smaller, and unfortunately all of them were plundered in ancient times, with reckless explorations destroying some of this ancient structures.
