[post_page_title]Ancient computer[/post_page_title]
The robust Antikythera mechanism is an Ancient Greek analogue computer, which could predict astronomical events decades into the future. Texts from that time period stated its 37 gears could calculate planetary movements through the zodiac, eclipses and more. It was found in a shipwreck off the cost of a Greek island with the same name in 1902, but the mechanism is speculated to be from 1st century BCE. The technology used in devices like this was lost until astronomical clocks were developed in 14th century Europe.
