In the seventh book, the Deathly Hallows represent the elder wand, the resurrection stone, and the invisibility cloak. The belief was that anyone that possessed all three would become the “master of death.” When Voldemort attempts to kill Harry in the last book, Harry is given the opportunity to come back to life. Many theories have surrounded why he was able to return, but a very popular one is that he in fact did own all three hallows, and was therefore the “master of death.”
