This is a super wacked out theory that is fun to discuss, but also understand ridiculous. The idea is that J.K. Rowling, the author who penned the entire Harry Potter series, is in fact Rita Skeeter, the fictional journalist who spreads false rumors about Harry and his friends. The notion is that “Rita” was denounced from wizarding society and came to the “real world” to write all about the wizarding world, and pretended that it was fiction. We told you it was wacky.
