While she was growing up, Carrie thought she had hit the big time before even appearing on American Idol. Sadly, this wasn’t to last. When she was just 14 years old the young singer was offered a contract with Capitol Records; only this fell through before anything was signed. Carrie was devastated. In fact, Carrie was so crushed that she was planning on giving up on any singing dreams. The youngster signed up to college where she studied journalism and communications instead. Carrie felt there was no hope in trying to hit the big time – oh how she was wrong.
