After being groomed by the Celestial Ego, Mantis eventually takes a stand, turns away and joins the Guardians after the Celestial Ego was found to be after galactic domination. Together, they fight for justice while Mantis learns to use her powers for actual good.

Pom Klementieff was not so known as an actress before landing the role of Mantis, but after completely blowing audiences away with her portrayal, it looks like she is here to stay.
None of this is to say that she was an acting novice before Guardians of the Galaxy – she actually starred in the Spike Lee movie Oldboy – but she is nevertheless incredibly thankful for being able to portray such a complex and interesting character.
