He is the beloved goofball Andy, he is the Guardian of our galaxy, he is none other than Chris Pratt! From his hilarious antics in Parks and Recreation to his impressive dinosaur skills in Jurassic World, Chris Pratt’s infectious charm fills our screens and hearts with all the right feels. But it is not just the characters he portrays that makes him a red carpet favorite, it’s his down-to-earth persona offscreen. If you still need convincing, here are a few more reasons why we can’t get enough of the talented actor.
Chris Pratt was not born into Hollywood, but came from rather humble beginnings and worked his way to the top after receiving a lucky break. While working as a waiter at the Bubba Gump restaurant in Hawaii, his charisma and wit got some attention from the customer he had been serving, who turned out to be none other than Rae Dawn Chong. Chong offered him a role in her film she was currently working on titled Curse Part Three. the film may have earned a few bad reviews, it still opened the door to opportunity for Chris to audition and land the part for The WB’s Everwood.
The physical transformations that Chris Pratt has gone through are nothing short of inspiring. For Parks and Recreation, Pratt had to switch up his diet to try to pack on a few pounds. Putting on weight may seem easy, but very few realize how it impacts everyday life. When he landed the roles for Zero Dark Thirty, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Jurassic World, Pratt needed to beef up and shed some pounds to fit the part. Contrary to popular belief, celebs have to work out just as hard as us mere mortals to get the bod they want. There is no quick fix or miracle fitness boost in Hollywood, just old fashioned exercise and a change of diet.
It’s no secret that Pratt’s son, Jack, is the apple of his eye, his online posts are proof of this. But Pratt also has a soft spot for children in general. Chris even made a surprise appearance at a later screening of Guardians of the Galaxy that was being watched by underprivileged kids from different charity organizations. He dropped by so the kids could take pictures with him and delivered a powerful speech to the kids about how they too can become their own Star-Lord.
It doesn’t surprise us that Chris Pratt was popular at school. Many of his friends from highschool recall that Pratt got on with just about everybody. Even though he was a track athlete, fullback for the football team, and qualifying state wrestler, he got on with every high school social group. He was even nominated to deliver the speech at graduation!
Besides being a naturally funny guy off and on screen, Pratt’s talents go beyond the jokes of Andy Dwyer. When an opportunity arises for a role, Pratt doesn’t turn it down, even if it means he is not going to be mister funny. He avoids being typecast and delivers powerful performances in more serious roles like Scott Hatteberg in Moneyball and Justin in Zero Dark Thirty.
It’s not hard to see why Pratt is in high demand on the silver screen, and he has proven time and time again that he can take on and succeed in just about anything!
