Many of us need our phones to have good cameras as we often snap everything that is going on around us. We use our phones to post images to Instagram and other social media platforms to make sure our friends and relatives can keep up with our adventures, or our gym selfies. With so many of us snapping hundreds of pictures we are questioning which smartphone has the best camera.

The Google Pixel 2 and the Pixel XL have the highest number of megapixels of the premium phones, so it is little surprise their camera quality is so good. This phone takes advantage of having two rear lenses, which allows you take make the background blurred, which helps to keep the foreground of your images looking extra sharp. The camera is capable of shooting clear pictures in low light, and the 12-megapixel camera is very versatile. The camera will take 12 images at once and merge them together to eliminate any background movement, keeping images looking crystal clear.
Huawei Honor 7X
Finding a good camera on a budget is difficult, after all, most of the time with technology you get what you pay for. The camera on the Huawei Honor 7X belies its price tag of $200 however. It won’t be able to process your picture as fast as the premium phones, but it is very easy to use if you are in decent lighting. It boasts a 16-megapixel main camera which captures a lot of detail and if you know what you are doing there is a professional mode which allows you to finetune your settings. It struggles in low light situations and the slow processing time on HDR photos means you’ll get blurry pictures unless you remain super still.
iPhone X
It is not surprising that the best cameras are attached to the best phones, and the iPhone X is another example of a premium phone with a premium camera. Although it costs $1,000, the iPhone X is considered by many to be the best smartphone on the market. The camera is the best there has ever been on an iPhone, and it has an incredibly accurate zoom that will not reduce the quality of your image. The colors in your images will be vibrant, and the lighting options are extensive. You can essentially take a portrait to a professional standard while sat in a dimly lit room. One drawback for many professional photographers, however, is the lack of manually being able to tweak the camera settings.
Smartphones have now advanced so much that they all are pretty much amazing. They all will have fantastic cameras as well as long battery lives and the latest technologies hidden away inside. There is little to choose from between the top smartphone manufacturers, and really it will come down to personal preference and budget.
