Hilarious billboards that have to be seen to be believed

No matter where you go in the world, you will always be bombarded with advertisements. Don’t believe us? Well, just look out of your window! You might see a store front with posters and offers begging for you to spend your money there. You might see a cab with colorful photos and slogans on the side of it. Maybe you’ll see a bench over the road that has the face of your weirdly-friendly-and-extravagant local realtor on it. You might be able to see in your neighbors’ front room – which definitely isn’t creepy at all – and see that an advertisement for an oven cleaner is blasting out into the midday sun. You just can’t escape the adverts. Yes, the whole world is scattered with the remnants of big companies and smaller stores who will literally do anything to drum up business. Because it’s a win-win situation, right? They shell out money to advertise their products and their sales, and they get money in return. Over the years, major companies around the world have put more and more money into their advertising campaigns. In fact, the United States has the largest advertising market in the world! Many experts suggest that this rise has come from the fact that there are even more advertising methods than there were a few decades ago. Nowadays, companies can make use of ads on the television and on the radio, within newspapers and magazines, through social media, digital advertising, on our phones, and out-of-home advertising.

Although many people believe that the latter has gone out of trend in a world full of voice-generated command systems, out-of-home advertising generated a whopping $36 billion in 2014 alone. Now that is pretty impressive. So, what is out-of-home advertising? Well, as you can probably tell by the name, this is the kind of advertising that you will find out in the real world. You might find posters on bus stops, taxis, or even up in the sky. As the fastest-growing country for this kind of advertising, India currently takes the lead with the amount of posters and billboards that adorn their streets – but that doesn’t mean other countries aren’t catching up. In fact, one of the largest billboard and outdoor advertising corporations, JCDecaux, have used their impressive reach to target consumer in more than 75 countries across the globe.

Now that you’ve really thought about it, you’re probably rethinking the whole day you just had. You’re right – it really is impossible to ignore them! You know what’s even more impossible to ignore? Laugh-out-loud billboards like this one, which really need to be seen to be believed.
