Epic toy design fails

The toys that we grew up with are the toys which made our childhood what it was. We all had something that we valued above all of the rest maybe it was a particular ball or doll, a model airplane or a stuffed animal.

But every once in a while, some toys come out a bit wonky. They do not exactly look like what it is that they are trying to portray. Perhaps the eyes are a little too… dead – or even put on upside down. Perhaps the packaging does not make the toy look all too savory. Or maybe there is just something completely wrong with the toy.

Today, with iconic toy stores such as Toy Works, FAO Schwarz, and Toys R Us out of business, the last places where a child can go and completely freak out with happiness (just like we used to do) is in the, by comparison, paltry toy isles of our local supercenters.

But still, it is indeed quite sad that the children of today and of the future will never be able to have the absolute sensory and joy overload which comes with walking into a giant warehouse store which is stocked to the brim with incredible toys. We personally recall having out imaginations explode with wonder at the sheer amount of fun things there were to buy.

So where did all of the toy stores go? What happened that kids (or really, their parents) are not going into physical brick and mortar stores anymore? After all companies like Toy R Us were worth billions of dollars. How could these giants fall?

On the one hand, we can look at the changing interests of today’s children. As it turns out, kids today would rather be playing on tablets, computers, phones, and video game consoles than they would with GI Joes, Barbies, Hot Wheels, or Legos. Tech companies were able to hook these kids before the other companies even had a chance.

Along with this is the prevalence of online shopping. Why schlep your kid to a Toys R Us, have them go into endorphin overload, attempt to explain why you can’t buy them the whole store, and then try to corral them back to the car, when you can just skip the hassle and click a few buttons from the comfort of your home?

We may be getting the last pictures of ridiculous toys ever, and we hope that you all enjoy them!

[post_page_title]A sad surprise[/post_page_title]

This person had bought their dog a stuffed cactus as a chew toy, and it seems as if this doggo really went to town on it! And it appears as if the people who made this toy designed it to be that way. Otherwise, why else would they put a second cactus toy inside of the first cactus toy? The frown on the second toy definitely shows that the creators were well aware that some pups would go and absolutely destroy the stuffed cactus.

A sad surprise
