The best Marvel movies ranked

Marvel has been producing comic books for a long time, and many of the heroes in them have been brought to life onscreen over the past decade. The Marvel Cinematic Universe grows larger with every summer blockbuster season and, following their first foray into the world of movies in 2008 with Iron Man, they changed the face of cinema forever. We’re having a look the best Marvel films that helped revolutionized the movie-going experience.

5) Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)

The First Captain America movie was released in 2011 to mixed reviews. Steve Rogers was a small framed man who was invited to try an experimental procedure to turn him into super soldier, Captain America. Following his first adventure, a 2014 sequel was produced. Captain America had to come to terms with leaving the past behind him, he had a new life in the present day. The movie is one of Marvel’s best because we get to see Captain America’s struggles with living in a new time and it gave audiences a further taste of what it’s like when superheroes team up to face the bad guys. Captain America is helped throughout the film by Black Widow to battle the mysterious villain, Winter Soldier.

4) Black Panther (2018)

Black Panther smashed all kinds of box office records when it was released in February 2018, and it also showed movie makers that blockbusters don’t need to be reserved for the summer. We follow T’Challa, the king of a hidden African country known as Wakanda. The Wakandan people are cut off from the rest of the world, but that doesn’t mean they are behind the times, in fact, they live in isolation to keep their secrets to themselves. They are an incredibly powerful nation that relies on technology and brains to overcome the odds. The story resonated with many viewers, doing away with African stereotypes and being recognized as one of the best Marvel movies ever made.

3) Iron Man (2008)

This movie was where Marvel really began to understand how big they could become. Robert Downey Jr. played Tony Stark, the loveable rogue who was the head of Stark industries but had a desire to do something amazing with the help of his high tech factory at his disposal. Stark build a weaponized suit of armor that he uses to take down evil, all with the witty charm Marvel fans have come to expect from the man behind the suit.

2) Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)

Guardians of the Galaxy found a way to bring a ragtag bunch of space creatures together in what is one of the funniest Marvel movies in the entire ten years they’ve been making them. It wasn’t all about the humor though, there was plenty of action to keep everybody hooked, and it introduced one of the most loveable characters to the masses. Groot, a creature resembling a tree, became the unofficial star of the movie as he would struggle to understand his human counterpart’s interactions. The characters in this movie proved so popular they cropped up in the latest Avengers movie.

1) The Avengers (2012)

This movie really made many people’s dreams come to reality. We had seen so many stand-alone superhero movies that we just wanted a big gang of them to get together, beat up the bad guys.
